Star Wars reshuffle
« on: June 02, 2017, 01:25:57 AM »
Star Wars - General Ideas Outlines

Location:
TAPANI SECTOR - A sector in the Mid-Rim, the Tapani Sector is considered unique in a number of ways, as well as strategically important. The Sector is home to 7 noble houses with their own holdings and an 8th faction that is a loose coalition of non-aligned worlds. These Houses all have their own politics, rivals, and allies, while the League of Freeworlds is mostly intended to maintain the peace along the main hyperspace lane, the Shapani Bypass. The entire region is under Imperial control due in large part to the presence of the shipyards over Fondor, which are so extensive that they rival the primary supplier of the Imperial Navy, Kuat. However, the Empire tends to leave this region to regulate itself, since the Houses want to maintain control of their realms rather than lose them to the might of the Imperial Forces, and the Freeworlds know that it is only by the grace of the Empire they’re allowed to maintain law and order. It is a region of intrigue and opportunity, ripe for stories.
(Cipher’s Note: This is a “Legends” established area, but let’s face it, it saves us a lot of headaches of creating a whole new sector. That said, there’s still a lot of open area to work with, and it provides us a framework for which to work with.)

Character Factions: (Please note that once I have an idea of who wants to go where, I’ll develop things like available equipment and ships for each section, so I just ask that you not show up with your own T-70 X-Wing or Star Destroyer. I’ll gladly review any special requests, but I reserve the right to reject any request that I deem as unsuitable.)

Black Talons -
(Cipher’s Note: This is a faction of my own creation, and with Mim’s blessing, I’ve been permitted to raise it as a potential faction to be a part of. I did a lot of research and development with it to make the most of it being unique without being overpowered and meta.)
Battlegroup 443 and the 443rd Assault Corps were originally elements of the Republic Military, assigned to the Tapani Sector under the direction of the Republic's 20th Fleet. There they fought the Confederacy for the duration of the Clone Wars, due to the Tapani Sector's strategic importance. However, when the rest of the Republic Military received Order 66, Battlegroup 443 was given one entirely different: Order 65. This meant that they were being directed to arrest Supreme Chancellor Palaptine, but they soon realized this was impossible, as the other units had received Order 66. Some questioned if they were supposed to carry out Order 66 or not, but it was decided that they were meant to get Order 65, and that Order 66 was an illegitimate order.

The Battlegroup was faced with either launching a fool's errand of trying to fight through every unit to Coruscant, or to hide and wait, biding their time until they could do so with better odds. They chose to hide in the Sector they had defended for so long, knowing the ground as they did. A secret base was set up, and the Battlegroup was now known by a new name: the Black Talons. Over the years, as the Republic was replaced with the Galactic Empire, the Black Talons quietly built up strength, seeking out allies, and striking their enemies to gauge their strengths and weaknesses. Their biggest boon was acquiring the help of several rebel Kaminoan cloners, who brought over their techniques and equipment to help maintain numbers, as local recruiting was slow.

They now hope to strike back at the illegitimate government that toppled the Republic they were sworn to defend. While they posses a fairly sizeable force, it is only a fraction of what the Empire can bring to bear, and the prevailing belief is to pick and choose their battles, for if they fall, then the last hope of the Old Republic dies with them. They do not trust the machinations of the fledgling Rebel Alliance, not trusting their motivations to be as pure as claimed.

PLAYER ROLES: The best bet here would be a small strike team, looking to find weakspots in the Empire’s armor and perhaps even restore a sense of loyalty to the Republic in the Tapani Sector to start a true restoration movement. One note here is that the Kaminoans that came to them also diversified the Fett template (both to preserve it and to prevent the Empire from figuring out that there is a Republic remnant force out in hiding), so there are now Clones who share some genetic traits with Jango Fett, but are otherwise quite different, even to the point there are females alongside males. Fett troopers make up the backbone of their force, though, and are considered the “old timers”, but there is still a sense of brotherhood and camaraderie among all of the Clones. (The new Clones hope to live up to the dream that the GAR was supposed to and save the Republic, not betray it). There are also a small number of Jedi in a sort of Jedi Order In Exile, the Jedi that were previously assigned to Battlegroup 443 and those that were rescued from Order 66. They still want to maintain a low profile, but their relationship to the Clones has grown and they work very closely with their troopers now.

Rebels - .
PLAYER ROLES: Think of this as being a group like Rogue One. Spies, assassins, saboteurs, guerilla fighters, and everything in between. There will be a fighter and transport element, though what specifically they’ll have is still being hashed out. This cell would be working to destabilize the Empire’s presence in the Tapani Sector, and the ultimate goal would be to cut off the flow of ships being built over Fondor. (Even better if Fondor started churning ships out for the Rebellion instead…). Please note that in this case, there would be a restriction on Force Sensitives and renegade Clones, to be reviewed at a case by case level.

Imperials -
PLAYER ROLES: This would be an Imperial Special Operations and Intelligence unit, so Stormtrooper Commandos, Death Troopers, Shadow Troopers, Imperial Intelligence spies and the sort. Since this unit would be operating from a mobile command post, there will be pilots and if so desired, crew for the ship in question. Their mission will be aimed at taking the fight to insurgent elements within the Tapani Sector, as well as taking on missions to keep the Houses and Freeworlds League in line where a fleet of Star Destroyers would be unwieldy. The only major character restriction note I would make here is in the event of Dark Jedi, which again would be on a case by case review.

Privateers -
PLAYER ROLES: Welcome to Kordall’s Raiders, one of the Tapani Sector’s biggest collection of outlaws. Pirates, mercenaries, smugglers, and everything in between, anyone who is willing to follow a couple of rules for big payoffs is welcome to join. The name of the game is money, and whoever pays the most gets to hire this band of miscreants to raise hell. It doesn’t matter who they go after, just so long as the credits are good and it’s not completely suicidal. This section, however, is a flat ban on Force Sensitives, since this is more the place you’d find types like Han Solo or Boba Fett, not a Skywalker.

I read this in the morning, but didn't have time to respond cause I worked all day today  :lol  :fp

This looks like a promising and awesome outline, so I might be interested in joining this one. I had a character here, but Im getting rid of her, so sending her back home. While we're having a refresh of roleplay perspective, I might as well create a new character for this one. This is good. I'm pretty busy, but I'll do the best I can to keep up.

If people are signing up for this or more are joining, I'll join. I dunno. Either case, I'm interested in this outline cause it looks awesome.

I'll set up ranking NPCs in all four, sort of acting in a "GM" role, but I will have PCs in all four as well. I'm also setting up each one's forces right now, so if you have any questions, please let me know. These will be my PCs.

Name: Cipherhornet
Characters:
  • RC-9465 "Cipher" - Black Talons
  • Sabe "Blaze" Baize - Rebels
  • TKC-118/Satre Pelles - Imperials
  • Morg Thanewulf - Privateers

(Assuming my previous character is okay and we are sort of jumping forwards in time (Or this is is some other AU and I can come up with a reason for Bowsy to be working with the Rebels and that his backstory fits in to this (If it is indeed some kind of AU.))

Name: Bowsy 112
Character: Captain Bowsy Skirata - Former RC-1120
Faction: Rebels (Assuming it is a continuation.) Or TBD (If AU)

Since Im not privy to any previous plans or directions, this would not be a continuation of any previous work. This is to avoid stepping on toes and to allow for fresh starts if so desired.

Name: MelsMum
Character: Tak Imsen~ Dark Jedi
Faction: Imperials

I did have another created for our original game, the concept was she was going to be found somewhere in stasis, having been in that situation for many years. Hopefully she can be approved again for what we're doing. http://starwars.lostworldssff.com/index.php?topic=830.0

I'm going to need to ponder allowing Marr. While I like the idea, the problem is that I keep pushing whats canon and what isnt. I can make exceptions here and there but eventually, I have to draw the line on Canon vs Legends. The other part is then handling her discovery by the faction you designate for her, and the story in general. Its possible, just depending on the faction is where to go.

So for now, Marr is under consideration. But Tak works, I can see having an Inquisitor type along for the ride.

And until we start, if anyone needs to polish their characters, feel free to do so, since I dont know what canon policy was being followed prior to me.

Where did Visas originally come from? I was under the impression that the character was from a Star Wars book or something? Anyways, it would be a waste to nuke a good bio, maybe if the name is known from elsewhere and some of the histories, Mum could change a few things, the name especially. Would that work?

Laya is good to go

Marr only appears in KOTOR 2, near as I can recall. Star Wars canon doesnt include the games prior to EA's Battlefront, a policy that Im not a fan of.

Again, Im not against the idea, but I have some factors, also including plot arc of whoever finds her, to consider. Im not against exceptions, I just want to be sure of what Im doing when I sign off on it.

If Marr were to be approved, what faction would she be involved with. If I can make a story work with her presence (and bearing in mind that because of TOR, Meetra Sturik also went light side in KOTOR 2), I think Id be comfortable with allowing Marr.

Our old concept with her was that when we did find her and wake her up, that she would be the one to train Laya, and those with the rebels convincing Marrs to join them.
